Tell us about your professional path, who you are and what you like to do.
My name is Loredana Gazzola. I live and work in the province of Piacenza. I am a mother, wife and freelancer. In scattered order most of the time. I am a designer and interior designer with a technical study for over 10 years. I like to draw rational, creative spaces, understandable to everyone. I am excluding in finding solutions, solving problems and proposing ideas. I love interior photography and the discretion I find in detail. I also love the open air, the one breathed with full lungs on my mountains. I have had a blog for some years www.homendco.it and I propose an online consultancy activity.
What is the part of your work that stimulates you most?
I first tell you what the least stimulates me, that is, the bureaucratic part. For the rest everything is a stimulus. Focus on an environment, draw it. Then take care of it by choosing materials, furniture, color. Follow the execution, compare myself with the craftsmen.
In which interior projects are you specialized?
I mainly deal with residential interiors. But I also designed offices and I am currently following the restyling of a photographic studio.
Tips, styling, internal project. What they differ in. How does the customer understand what advice to ask
They are the online consultations I propose.
Advice. Help in the choices for the home. They are fast tips that can concern floors, coverings, doors, curtains but also the color of the walls or the arrangement of the paintings, the choice of the bases for the kitchen or carpet for the living room. Or the cushions for the sofa or the right light for the dining table.
Styling. Furnishes an environment and put it again. Game with furnishings, complements, lighting, color and wallpaper. No wall intervention and no administrative practice.
Interior project. For those who want to renovate a house. Then intervene also with masonry works. I prepare a real project that concerns construction works. I attach a metric calculation. Relate to the administrative practice to follow. Then I take care of the spaces by furnishing them and completing them.
What info do you need to offer online advice for a restyling of an environment?
I need rather precise measures of the room, the thickness of the walls, the location and size of the internal and external openings. The indication of the fixed dimensions such as the locations of the exhausts or the position of the flues. I always ask to send me photos taken by various angles. I ask to be precise in the request and to provide me with some note on the needs and style that is preferred.
When do you recommend a renovation to the customer through masonry works?
When I find little rationality in the location of the rooms. Too small openings. Unused spaces. Sometimes, however, I have to do with well -distributed houses inside them. In this case I always try to enhance what the environments already offer. Often the houses seem to be redone only because during everyday life the spaces tend to mix and create chaos and disorder becomes easy. They are not always to be redone.
How do you furnish a house according to the personality of its owners?
I try to be flexible, to adapt my thought to the client’s wishes. In my projects I try to enhance the way of life of people. Listening and advice. I also draw a lot and I propose a lot. It sometimes happens that customers do not have clear ideas. Seeing alternative solutions and clear and realistic designs helps to understand the wire to follow.
What characteristics are essential for a functional, bright and design stay?
A palette of light color. A parquet with a neutral treatment. Glass surfaces. A comfortable sofa, of proportions appropriate to the room. A few session, armchairs or design chairs or perhaps even recovery and different from each other. I would add some stools that can serve as a support base or as an additional seat in case of need. A front table on the sofa, rigorously low. All elements to be collected on a large carpet. I would add cushions in a spontaneously well -kept mix, a basket for magazines. A light, wall and adjustable, to create atmosphere and prepare for relaxation, functional to reading or useful when you want to work with the PC sitting on the sofa. I would complete with prints on the walls or photos or paintings, according to style. On the central table a vase and some interior books.
Then I would decorate with plants, wide with wide leaves or a combination of succulents of various sizes.
How do you combine functionality and beauty in your projects?
I am a very practical person. I put the spaces in order before decorating them. At each surface, a task assigns. Aligno, with respect to the proportions, follow a logic and then end instinctively. All this whole leads to the beauty of the final result.
For which project are you particularly proud?
A little bit of all. I dedicate myself a lot to everyone and I would never be able to deliver a project without being fully convinced. But if I really have to choose one then I would say the offices designed for a French multinational company. The starting point was an old prefabricated shed. A huge empty space and large openings to adapt and to give shape. I have defined areas, volumes and paths. I have made large, homogeneous, linear, clean, pleasant, pleasant to see and enjoying environments.
On what one must focus on the restructuring of a small environment. Recommended colors, materials and furnishing accessories?
I happen to me many. Small environments should not be filled but organized. The first thing is to define the spaces. Don’t mix. Avoid, when possible, to superimpose the various activities (lunch/study or sofa/bed use table) because, even if there are many mix solutions, attributing its function to every corner can avoid uncomfortable and disordered daily use. Use clear colors. The colors lit only to define a niche or an angle to which you want to emphasize. Choose simple furnishings with clean lines. Opt for Filomuro doors to paint the same color as the wall. They are there but they do not see each other and do not produce size. Using mirrors is a makeup to make the space visually wider. With regard to the lighting to avoid absolutely chandeliers too large plants with the rooms. Instead yes to the wall lights and floor
